How far would you go to help a friend in need? In this talk, Amanda answers this question by telling her surrogacy story, narrating her personal journey from the simple decision to help a friend in need to the profound questions it raised for her own life, as well as the implications it holds for everyone else. Viewing life as a series of scientific investigations comes naturally to ASB science teacher and ASB parent, Amanda Meyer.

Whether exploding watermelons with her own sons, or becoming a gestational surrogate for the children of a friend, her life has been guided by curiosity and a love of exploration which she enjoys fostering in others. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community
